IIP Write Up "BENIN"
My feelings about this project are not so good. I had to do two interviews because the first one that I had did have lost. So I did a second interview and it did not sound right. So now I and my partner have to kind of put a project together. I don’t think it would be hard, but the only thing that frustrates me is what we are threw. We started another project and we had to quit that because at the last minute we had another interview the next day after school.
Something I remember that Koudousm was telling me was when he went back to his country, and how he had to hide out from his family and friends. They would always ask him “What did you bring us from the U.S”. He told us that he would tell them that he’s not making a lot if money like that. I kind of understand where his family is coming from but that is not right how you would just ask him that, like they were depending on him to bring all them something back. He said “hat he told them he’s not really getting as much money as he expected to get.
Kousdousm said that he is a very unique person. I kind of believed him because he said that he don’t where his clothes the way other people do, also he said that he don’t do much to his hair. The only thing he does is buy shampoo for it. In his country he told me that they ware dreads, braids, nappy hair, and others. In his country they do many things on their spare time. They play football, basketball, soccer, and many other things. To me he is a very unique person because his clothes are very different from the ones we ware.
The last story that he told me was when he went to a private school. There were mostly French kids there. He said that they was trying to turn him in to somebody he is not. It was mostly per-pressure. I think it’s like that at every school because when you’re a new student people try to get you to do things you really don’t want to but you do it to fit in with the crowed.
I’ve never interview anyone before but this time it was kind of not so cool but overall it was ok. I love doing new things. I’ve learned how to interview people and proper way to say things. One thing that I remember from the interview was when he told me that you have to bow to your elders.
